St George's Celebration in Lytham was a slightly damp experience.
But we are used to a bit of the wet stuff in Longridge!

Welcome to Glen Lauren & Nikki |

We are delighted to welcome to the band Glen Anderton (tutti cornet),
Lauren Worthington (horn)
and Nikki Coupe (flugal/cornet) who is also taking on the role of MD/trainer of the re-formed junior band.

We are also happy to report that Elizabeth Connor(our principle cornet player) is playing with the band again after breaking her arm very badly.
Her first concert re-appearance was at the Patrons' Concert in March but she was excused from playing a solo (just for once!) on that occasion.

Brass at the Guild February 5, 2012 |

The Longridge Band achieved 4th place in the Championship section of the Brass at the Guild competition at the Preston Guild Hall on the 5th February where over 30 Brass Bands were competing. They also took the Best Soloist award. To add to the awards both Phillip Helvin and Geoff Derbyshire received Certificates of Honour for their 50 years of service to the Brass Band Movement.
